I Asked 5 Women to Find and Wear the Oldest Thing They Own

The outfit I recall most particularly from secondary school included a short-sleeved coat I purchased at Loehmann's. It was mud earthy colored, had puffy sleeves and a subside container collar, and I wore it with tight boot-cut pants and purple slides. Trust me when I state I thought I looked extraordinary and would sooner go out in a wraparound today. Actually, I'd scarcely even wear an outfit from school today. That is the way low my resistance is for appropriating my style past.

Possibly that is valid for a great many people, since when Tracee Ellis Ross wore a shirt from secondary school to an extravagant shmancy polo coordinate in October, a few news sources composed entire anecdotes about it. Quit worrying about what that says about our consistent pattern of media reporting; what's unmistakable is wearing old-ass stuff is the new economical force move. Furthermore, I don't mean vintage-old, I mean got it-at-BP-in-2006 old. Much chicer.

When did you get them and why? How could you envision you'd wear them at that point?

I got them when I previously moved to NYC on the grounds that I needed to "redesign" my style, however I was simply too frightened to even consider wearing them, so they gathered residue, subsequently the build up (lol). I envisioned wearing them over sweaters and shirts with stout boots since I believed that was the exemplification of New York style. I purchased these in 2010 in light of the fact that they were on super deal. I think I paid $50 for them. At that point, Rag and Bone was having a second, so I think I was marginally blinded by the mark, yet additionally, I'm a sucker for a decent deal. I didn't consider how I would wear them. I will in general be exceptionally rash and was much the same as, "What a deal!!!"

I'm almost certain I gotten it in 2002, and I realize it was at the first Bird, which was on seventh Ave in Park Slope. I don't have a clue, they were a genuine lavish expenditure! I feel regretful. They help me to remember an alternate time in my life. They are unexpected? 

How can it feel to wear them now?

It's amusing to wear them since I can see precisely who I figured I would be the point at which I got them, yet matched with this "athleisure" look, I may really clean them off (in a real sense, they have dust on them) and break them out this colder time of year!
